Fran, Chris, David & I had a meeting with Kevin Craig from IT yesterday. IT is in the process of migrating various departments to the Sharepoint Content Management System (CMS). We are next on the list. We expressed our interest in developing a new web presence for the library & we also expressed some of our concerns, in terms of design restrictions, etc. At our next meeting Kevin will be showing us what a small portion of our current site would look like using the newly established RMU Sharepoint templates.
Though the Sharepoint server was down when Kevin tried to access a couple of the RMU departments using it, (which raised some concerns), the meeting was positive, in general, and the move to Sharepoint seems like it will be (in general) fairly positive as well.
